Dear Doreen,
I have a question about condoms. I am a married woman, and I belong to a married dating site. I am on birth control pills so I was thinking I didn’t really need to worry about condoms but so far most of the married men I have dates with have insisted on using them. Do you think this is necessary?

Or should I call you Ms. Nomer? You’re not a very cautious person at all if you’re thinking condoms are overkill. Condoms do much more than just prevent pregnancy. They aid in the prevention of diseases. Hey, you’re a grown up, and here in reality when grown ups play, they have to be aware and careful. There are all kinds of sexual transmitted diseases out there: Genital Warts, Herpes, Hepatitis, Syphilis, Gonorrhea, Chlamydia, and AIDS just to name the more popular ones. Look, you’re never risk free, but just like wearing your seat belt or your helmet, there are smart things you can do to seriously reduce your risk factors. This goes for all dating – singles, marrieds, and everyone in between. If you choose not to use condoms with someone you don’t know, I think you’re taking a chance that is unnecessary.Good luck,
